I grew up in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where I developed a love for the rich assemblages of life found in the Appalachians. Over time, I've come to focus on freshwater life, and fish in particular. Fish are stunningly diverse, beautiful, and abundant worldwide, yet enjoy so little of the spotlight. I hope to do my part to remedy this through my images.
Though fish are my central focus, I am a naturalist at heart, and work to understand the diversity of organisms wherever I find myself.
I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in biology, after which I intend to explore policy, media-making, and governing as tools for conservation.
